Saturday Night Banquet - Batts-Hammond Reunion 2011

Saturday Night Banquet - Batts-Hammond Reunion 2011

About two years ago, my family and I went on a family reunion to San Antonio, Texas.

The adults had to go to this planning meeting about where to have the next reunion. Out of my three cousins, Taylor, Miles and Kieren, my sister Meghan, and me, the oldest was only twelve at the time, so we couldn't stay in the hotel room by ourselves (especially with a three-year-old there).

The only other choice was to go to the meeting with them. Little did we know that the meeting was over two hours long!

By the 2nd hour, the five of us were getting really fidgety. Sensing our distress, my Aunt Janine swooped in and saved the day! She snuck us out of the room and let us all take a walk on the nearby Riverwalk. After getting back an hour later, the meeting still wasn't over!

So, my mom secretly gave us the key to our hotel room, and Aunt Janine watched us. Thirty minutes into watching "Back to the Future", our parents came back into the room.

It did make us feel better knowing that they thought the meeting was just as boring as we thought it was! But, now that we're older, hopefully that'll never happen again!

Great Memory
by: Aunt Janine

I remember that day as well. I could not bear to see the kids suffering in that meeting. We had a lot of fun on the riverwalk!
